Our Staff

Our Director, Katy Davies Price, BS, MAT
Children have been the love of Katy’s life for as long as she could remember; taking care of the preschoolers in her mixed-age kindergarten and subscribing to parenting magazines in elementary school to further her education.
Katy finds fresh perspective in the sparkle of a child’s eyes as they experience the world around them for the first time; open and honest, spontaneous and unashamedly singing, dancing, and playing without labels telling them: “I can’t do that.” Children feel free to explore, discover, and mold their passions, allowing treasured moments when she can enjoy sharing art, music, stories, and outdoor play.
Katy, mother to five adult children, loves spending time outside and playing music with her husband, Pastor Curtis, and their creative blended family. With a BS in Human Development and Family Studies from the University of Utah (Go Utes!) (1992), and an MA in Teaching from Westminster (2014), Katy has spent over thirty years teaching, consulting, and directing all ages in schools, after-school programs, child care centers, summer camps, a residential treatment program, and her own family child care. Director at First Baptist since 2021, Katy enjoys doing art and music with the adorable children at FBCDC every week.

Building relationships with the children is the focus of each teacher’s daily interactions. Our teachers act as positive role models to guide children in their exploration of the world.
